We rescue equines from the worst situations imaginable and give them the care, time, and love they need to thrive again.
We pull horses, donkeys, and ponies from kill pens, slaughter trucks, and law enforcement seizures — giving them a second chance at life.
Every rescued animal receives veterinary care, proper nutrition, farrier services, and patient rehabilitation on our acreage in Marquez, Texas.
Once healed and thriving on our 100-acre pasture, our horses are matched with loving forever homes through our adoption program.

Sparkles arrived severely emaciated, every rib visible, body scarred. She was weak, frightened, and had almost given up.
From skin and bones to shining bright
With months of patient care, proper nutrition, and love, Sparkles has filled out beautifully. Her coat gleams and her spirit has returned — living proof of what your donations make possible.
Noir arrived thin, her coat matted and dull, standing alone in the cold. She was malnourished and had lost all trust in people.
From neglected to nourished
Now Noir roams free on green pasture, her coat gleaming in the Texas sunset. She’s put on healthy weight and greets Caren every evening at feeding time — a bond built on patience and love.
Traveler was severely emaciated, every bone in his body visible through his dull coat. He was barely strong enough to stand, grazing weakly just to survive.
One year later — a whole new horse
One year of dedicated care transformed Traveler completely. He’s filled out, stands tall and strong, and has become a favorite on the ranch — even the dogs love him.

Classes are held on our 100-acre ranch in Marquez, TX. All skill levels welcome. Safety helmets and equipment provided. Our rescued horses are gentle, patient, and ready to help your child grow.

Meet the Founder
Artist, advocate, and lifelong horse lover — Caren founded Saving Grace Horse Rescue from her acreage in Marquez, Texas, with a simple mission: save as many of these beautiful creatures as possible.
What started as rescuing one horse from a kill pen has grown into a full operation spanning over 100 acres, where horses are rehabilitated and readied for their forever homes.
When she’s not in the pasture, Caren is an accomplished artist who paints murals and wall art, and teaches art classes to her community.
